Brainstorm concluded its 2018 on a high note. Not only it celebrated 25 years of the company’s founding, but Brainstorm also marked record achievement — a 50% increase in worldwide sales compared to the previous year.

Brainstorm’s current product line includes solutions for real-time 3D graphics, photorealistic augmented reality and virtual studios, news and sports, entertainment, elections, weather and corporate presentations, providing an end-to-end environment which covers a wide range of requirements while featuring an “open approach” that allows its products compatible with other broadcast ecosystems.

Founded in 1993 by Ricardo Montesa, Brainstorm started its activities as a provider of 3D graphics services to broadcasters and other companies, based on a previous software developed following his graduation project in engineering. The eStudio software, which Brainstorm calls the “benchmark product in real-time 3D graphics”, was launched the following year.

According to Brainstorm, the '90s saw a significant global growth of the company, from Europe to Asia, the Middle East and the US, supporting election projects with the creation of 3D graphics and virtual sets for companies such as the BBC, NBC, TVE, NHK and many others. Such growth in customers and technologies also allowed Brainstorm to expand into the film market, where the company was involved in Hollywood movies such as I, Robot, Artificial Intelligence, and Alice in Wonderland.

In 2007, Brainstorm increased its product line by acquiring the Aston brand, which allowed the development of advanced CG and graphics tools.

“Innovation is part of our DNA,” Montesa concluded. “We want to provide our customers with advanced, flexible and reliable solutions to cover their requirements, no matter how complex they are. We’ve done so for the past 25 years, and still have great ideas for the future.”
