Ross Video has added the 12G-ready Ultrix FR12 to its Ultrix family of routers. The software-defined platform supports routing, multiviewer and signal processing, and can be deployed for outside broadcast (OB) vans and flypacks.
The FR12 comes with an LCD display that is designed to support operators with system monitoring, troubleshooting, configuration, and control via a full-size, high-resolution touchscreen panel. And as it comes with a production switcher, operators can use the router to build infrastructures with flexibility, performance and integration.
Todd Riggs, Director of Product Management for Hyperconverged Solutions at Ross Video, explained, “The FR12 represents a major enhancement to the current Ultrix product portfolio and the capacity increase of the frame means Ross Video now addresses and can meet even more of the worldwide router and multiviewer market’s requirements.”
The FR12 is further equipped with up to 288x288 SDI ports with a 6144x6144 TDM audio fabric, up to 288 frame syncs, 288 clean quiet switches, and up to 48x100 PIP multiviewers. It also has up to eight software-defined production engine (SDPE) blades that can be configured as a single 8ME Ross Acuity switcher, eight independent Ross Carbonites switchers, or even a 4ME Acuity and four independent Carbonites. Ross Video will be displaying the FR12 at booth 11.B10 during IBC2022 at the Amsterdam RAI.
