It has customers in about 100 countries and has a presence worldwide. The new SRT product, showcased at the NAB Show, has been re-engineered and delivered into a hardware solution to provide market-leading density and energy efficiency. In a single two-rack unit box, it can deliver up to 72 gigabits of SRT capacity, supporting over 6,000 connections. This means that a single box can support 22 UHD camera feeds.
Alex Pannell, Chief Commercial Officer of Appear, said, "We've got competition in these kinds of solutions, but no one can beat us now on density or energy efficiency." According to Appear's analysis, its new SRT solution uses up to 15 times less rackspace than its nearest competitor. Additionally, Appear believes that it can offer the product at roughly half the price of its competitors per gigabit. "We believe it's the best, most dense, and most scalable solution in the industry today," Pannell said. Appear's SRT product is secure, reliable, and optimised for low-latency video streaming across unpredictable networks.
It provides end-to-end security and can withstand the high packet loss and jitter that occur in the real world. The NAB Show is the world's largest event focused on media, entertainment, and technology. It attracts more than 90,000 attendees from 160 countries and features over 1,700 exhibitors. Appear's success at the NAB Show 2023 underscores its position as a leader in media processing and delivery solutions. Its new SRT product is expected to be in high demand amongst telecom operators, broadcasters, content owners, and production facilities worldwide.
