This will help give access to quality playback even in remote locations.
TAG Video Systems (TAG) has been in the forefront of providing 100% software-based integrated IP when it comes to multi-viewing, probing, and monitoring solutions.
Since launching in 2008, it now supports over 100,000 probing or monitoring points. This covers live production, distribution, playout/master control, and OTT.
Its platform supports compressed and uncompressed formats, and TAG’s solutions can operate on either standard commercial off-the-shall hardware or through cloud.
It takes pride in having a ‘Zero Friction’ philosophy, which means that there is no need for TAG to visit a client or come for support of a system. It prioritizes user experience within the broadcast media industry to make solutions happen.
In an interview during the recently concluded BroadcastAsia 2023 hosted by APB+, TAG’s Vice President for Product Strategy, Michael Demb, said that it now promotes its content matching service.
It is an industry-leading idea which centers on the customers. Demb said that with this solution, even the most-far flung areas can have access to quality content.
“One of the greatest technologies that we introduced at NAB earlier this year is content matching, which helps customers to ensure that the content that they distribute at the right latency is the right content that they intend to send to the remote locations,” he said.
From this solution, its customers can likewise have better access as well to the performance of their content and to find troubleshooting issues immediately.
“It helps them verify that the feeds that they send to the distribution networks actually goes to where they need to know about this product… It helps them to troubleshoot their workflows, and actually enables them visibility into the video workflows,” he explained.
As to the usability of this solution, the market range for this is wide as it can be used by different kinds of users and companies. This flexibility allows various media outlets and groups in the broadcasting industry to find the specific tools they need to improve their own services.
“So we are targeting all the different customers in media and entertainment, everything from life production, through play out and distribution,” he said.
On top of this, TAG’s solution can be used on multiple platforms. It is not limited to a specific kind of device, enabling all types of existing properties to be maximized all whilst working with TAG.
TAG’s integrations are proudly seamless with other technologies, and it seeks to complement existing solutions. It recognizes that it is but only a part of the workflow, yet one that plays an important role. Its interoperability is made possible by having open APIs.
“We can run our technology on any platform, whether it’s on-prem, in the cloud, or any hybrid environments as well,” Demb said.
The company seeks to have this forward-looking solution promoted more in APAC and in other parts of the globe. It is looking to partner with more broadcasting teams and companies to maximize the capabilities of its current technology.
