At this year’s eagerly anticipated IBC Show in Amsterdam, Riedel Communications, an industry leader in pioneering real-time signal distribution and communications solutions, showcased its evolving product lineup and unveiled the MediorNet Horizon.
Guillaume Mauffrey, the Sales Director for the APAC region at Riedel, discussed the company’s present offerings and hinted at the brand’s future direction in a recent conversation with Asia-Pacific Broadcasting+. Mauffrey began by expressing his satisfaction with Riedel’s participation at the event. “Compared to previous years, IBC 2023 is busier, which is a testament to the industry’s growth and our ever-evolving contributions,” he shared. Reinforcing this observation, he pointed out Riedel’s significantly larger booth space, emphasizing the brand’s “increasingly growing presence and products.”
The company’s impressive display at the event wasn’t just about size. They brought forth their classic range of products, including the popular intercoms and smart panels – both wireless and panel-based. But it was their move towards a more streamlined live broadcast solution that garnered attention. Mauffrey revealed Riedel’s latest product under the MediorNet family, the MediorNet Horizon.
Delving into its functionalities, Mauffrey said, “MediorNet Horizon essentially fills the void between IP and SDI.” In the past, customers needed two separate product lines to bridge this technological chasm. With the Horizon, the intention is to simplify – providing a single gateway that balances IP 2110 on one end and audio SDI on the other.
An unexpected but pleasant interruption in the conversation highlighted Riedel’s market influence. A prominent team from China expressed significant interest in another Riedel standout – the Bolero, a wireless intercom system. On this, Mauffrey candidly mentioned, “Bolero is swiftly gaining traction in markets. Its ease of use, competitive pricing, and feature richness make it a prime choice for modern production companies.”
Addressing Riedel’s position in a robust competitive landscape, Mauffrey conveyed confidence in the brand’s unique selling points. “Yes, we face competition. But what differentiates us is our wide product portfolio. We started with a focus on intercom solutions, and now, our broadened product range means our competitors have diversified.”
The IBC Show in Amsterdam is renowned for bringing together titans of the broadcasting world, offering them a platform to share innovations, network, and set the tone for the industry’s future. Riedel’s prominence at the event and its dedication to simplifying complex technological needs suggest a bright future for the brand and its clientele.
Concluding his conversation with Asia-Pacific Broadcasting+, Mauffrey thanked the organizers for the platform and the attendees for their unwavering interest in Riedel’s offerings. As IBC 2023 winds down, Riedel’s commitment to leading change in broadcasting solutions remains stronger than ever.
