AJA Video Systems has unveiled a Dante AV 4K v1.1 update, which marks a milestone for AJA’s Dante AV 4K-T and 4K-R transmitter/receiver converters, enabling ultra-low latency, professional quality 4K/Ultra HD (UHD)/2K/HD/VESA Dante video and audio transport over a 1GigE Dante AV network.
Available as a free download, the update responds to user needs and modern workflow demand, providing AV professionals with increased flexibility in the field. High dynamic range (HDR) support has been added, ensuring passage of HDR signals through the devices while allowing users to modify HDR metadata on outputs.
AJA Dante AV 4K v1.1 brings Ref In support for 4K-R, allowing synchronisation with devices like the AJA GEN 10 HD/SD sync generator. Another feature is the activation of a second locking Ethernet port (Eth2) on the device, enabling connection to a Dante AV switch without an additional Ethernet cable.
New cropping and scale resizing capabilities for 4K-R have been introduced, allowing users to scale 4K to UHD and downscale UHD to HD. The update also validates select 4K and 8K 4×4 workflows, ensuring perfect timing and synchronisation in live production settings, said AJA.
AJA Dante AV 4K v1.1 now supports 3G Level B 4:2:2 10-bit high frame rate and is compatible with Audinate’s Dante Domain Manager. This compatibility allows users to control Dante from touch panels, monitor status, and automate workflows.
Wim Roose, Senior Product Manager of Audinate, praised AJA’s contribution to the Dante AV family, emphasising the global embrace of AJA Dante AV 4K-T and 4K-R for synchronised, high-quality, ultra-low latency networked video.
Nick Rashly, President of AJA, added, “There’s no singular path to video over IP, and workflows vary broadly, depending upon the approach, so we’re continuously investing in bringing new features to AJA’s 4K-R and 4K-T that give users the tools they need to achieve their vision.
“AJA Dante AV 4K v1.1 offers a ton of new great features for users to explore, and we’re excited to see how they start leveraging them.”
