Grass Valley transforms SBA’s Studio A infrastructure

Grass Valley has partnered with the Saudi Broadcasting Authority (SBA) to transform Studio A, the core news and talk-show studio for Saudi One, the SBA’s flagship channel. This upgrade is part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 initiative, which emphasises innovation and high-quality media production.

The modernisation of Studio A features the integration of Grass Valley’s live production solutions, including 4K/Ultra HD (UHD)-ready cameras, switchers, and processing equipment. This investment underscores SBA’s dedication to state-of-the-art technologies, ensuring quality and elevating media production standards.

The project, executed in collaboration with Grass Valley’s Saudi partner, First Gulf Company (FGC), includes advanced TV broadcast studio and production control equipment. Among the key technologies deployed are Grass Valley’s 4K/UHD-ready LDX 98 cameras, the K-Frame Kayenne 4 M/E switcher, and Densité signal processing systems, which form the backbone of the upgraded Studio A infrastructure.

Hatim Abounassf, Executive Vice-President for Engineering Affairs at SBA, said, “This partnership with Grass Valley is crucial for advancing our objectives of excellence and innovation. Grass Valley’s proactive support significantly impacts our progress, highlighting the importance of collaboration in achieving transformative milestones.”

Tim Banks, Chief Revenue Officer at Grass Valley, added, “We are proud and committed to empowering media organisations across the Middle East with cutting-edge solutions.

“Strengthening our partnership with the SBA and supporting their initiatives is key to redefining the region’s media landscape.”
