Imagine supports fast-turnaround for live sports delivery in Southeast Asia

Malaysia’s SPOTV, a provider of linear and digital sports content, has chosen a turnkey, fully automated playout solution from Imagine Communications to provide reliable, fast-turnaround live sports transmission for regional channels in Southeast Asia.

The end-to-end, futureproof ecosystem based in the teleport and broadcast centre in Cyberjaya, Malaysia, is based on Imagine’s Versio integrated playout system and ADC automation to simplify operation and easily scale to meet evolving needs.

Prakash Maniam, Head of Broadcast Operations & Engineering, SPOTV, said, “Imagine Communications understood our requirements and equipped us with a tightly integrated, highly reliable playout infrastructure that can grow as our needs change.

“We know that many media companies around the world have successfully deployed Imagine playout technology, and we are confident that our modern, new system will be able to support our channel playout requirements for years to come.”

SPOTV’s new fully redundant 6+2 channel origination workflow is built on Versio with embedded instances of ADC automation software, which integrates with more devices and business systems than any other automation product, helping to ensure a complete workflow environment.

Imagine’s Nexio+ AMP high-performance video servers with automatic input format detection manage content ingestion. Material is managed and workflow control is provided by Versio Content Portal, and Nexio Motion asset management software ensures the correct content is loaded onto the Versio instances in plenty of time for scheduled playout.

Mathias Eckert, SVP & GM EMEA and APAC for Imagine Communications, added, “We are honored that SPOTV has joined the ranks of leading global media companies around the world who have made Versio their playout platform of choice.

“This implementation reflects SPOTV’s commitment to excellence in live sports broadcast in the region and will enable them to work more efficiently today and prepare for whatever their future holds.”
