Wohler enhances iVAM2-MPEG with SRT front-panel monitoring of MPEG analysis

Wohler has introduced a major update to its iVAM2-MPEG Secure Reliable Transport (SRT) monitor, adding advanced functionality to streamline broadcast and production workflows. The enhancements include support for its Caller and Listener modes, monitoring of encrypted SRT streams, and Stream-ID selection for multi-stream endpoints. Additionally, the device’s Advanced MPEG Stream Analyser is now accessible directly from the front panel, complementing the existing web interface.

With the new update, operators can initiate or accept SRT connections based on their workflows, thanks to dual Caller and Listener modes. Encrypted SRT streams can also be monitored, providing broadcasters with increased confidence when handling secured contribution and distribution feeds. For environments that carry multiple SRT streams over a single IP or port, the Stream-ID selection feature enables users to target specific streams, simplifying multi-programme monitoring and reducing setup complexity.

The front-panel integration of the MPEG Stream Analyser further enhances operational efficiency. Previously available only via the web interface, the front-panel access provides operators with a structured, at-a-glance view of parsed MPEG tables and programmes. It also enables real-time selection of audio, video, or subtitle pack identifiers (PIDs) for decoding.

Amol Natekar, Vice-President of Engineering, Wohler, said, “These enhancements and improvements reflect our focus on delivering best-in-class solutions for real-world broadcast and production needs.

“Dual-mode SRT, encrypted stream monitoring, and STREAM-ID selection, combined with a front-panel MPEG analyser, help operators connect faster, monitor securely, and make the right selection immediately, without extra configuration overhead.

“We remain committed to continuously improving usability and capability across Wohler solutions.”
