Ateme enables Viettel to deliver 7Tbps peak traffic in real-world conditions

Viettel has completed the deployment of Ateme’s end-to-end video delivery solution to power its next-generation services across the South-east Asian region.

To support its rapidly expanding TV and over-the-top (OTT) business, the Vietnamese telco selected Ateme to deliver a comprehensive suite of technologies, encompassing TITAN, NEA-DVR, NEA-Live with low-latency streaming, and NEA-CDN, along with networking and security components.

The platform has been designed for more than seven Tbps of peak throughput and can support up to nearly four million concurrent sessions, ranking among the largest video delivery deployments in South-east Asia.

In production, it has already achieved more than five Tbps peak traffic, proving its scalability and performance in real-world conditions, reported Ateme.

Ngo Xuan Truong, Broadband & TV Manager, Viettel, said, “Viettel’s mission is to bring advanced digital experiences to every household. Ateme’s flexible and reliable platform enables us to deliver premium-quality streaming services at massive scale while maintaining full control and operational efficiency.”

Viettel chose Ateme’s solution for its flexibility, and its proven capability to meet stringent redundancy and reliability requirements of Vietnam’s state-owned telecommunications leader.

The platform’s intuitive, user-friendly interface empowers Viettel’s operations teams to manage and operate the entire service in-house, while advanced features such as per-household session control enable fine-tuned service optimisation and superior user experience at scale.Duc Long Nguyen, Regional Sales Manager APAC, Ateme, added, “We are proud to support Viettel in building one of the most powerful video delivery infrastructures in the region. This collaboration demonstrates how Ateme’s technology can meet the highest standards of reliability, scalability, and user experience demanded by top-tier operators.”
