Ateme integrates Advanced HDR by Technicolor into TITAN

Ateme has announced the integration of Advanced HDR by Technicolor into its TITAN video compression platform.

TITAN is known for its high-performance video compression designed to deliver high-quality content across various platforms. Advanced HDR by Technicolor, a collaboration between Philips, InterDigital, and Technicolor, offers a suite of high dynamic range (HDR) solutions for production, distribution, and display.

This integration streamlines the delivery of HDR live premium content, according to Valerie Allie, Senior Director of the Video Solutions Group at InterDigital. “Integrating Advanced HDR by Technicolor directly into TITAN streamlines the delivery of HDR live premium content in the Advanced HDR by Technicolor format, allowing for larger deployments and increased capabilities for broadcasters, including rights owners,” she said. “This simplifies workflows while opening up new options for broadcasters and streaming providers to maximise and scale their HDR distribution capabilities.”

The announcement marks a significant step forward in the ongoing partnership between Atom and Advanced HDR by Technicolor. Beyond existing implementations of Advanced HDR by Technicolor in production, playout, and file-based conversations, the TITAN integration enhances scalability and deployment options for broadcasters.

Broadcasters can now leverage the strengths of different vendors to deliver HDR viewing experiences. Notably, HDR content enabled by Advanced HDR by Technicolor can be delivered with various codecs, including advanced video coding (AVC)/H.264, high efficiency video coding (HEVC)/H.265, and from any standard dynamic range (SDR) or HDR source content.
