BCNEXXT’s Vipe RT specifically designed for live sports/events

Netherlands-based BCNEXXT will showcase at IBC2024 what it calls the future of playout operations with a new version of its cloud-native, software-only Vipe solution. The company is introducing Vipe RT to deliver the same cost efficiency and automation to live sports and events that are already deployed in hundreds of entertainment channels.

BCNEXXT is bringing over a century of combined experience in developing Vipe, a virtualised, cloud-native system for linear, video-on-demand (VoD), and over-the-top (OTT) publishing. This platform, says BCNEXXT, sets a new efficiency benchmark, using significantly fewer resources and achieving near-perfect uptime.

Offering flexibility, market-leading reliability, full customisation, and remote operations, Vipe is disrupting traditional playout operation by consolidating linear, Free Advertising Supported Television (FAST), VoD and streaming silos onto a common platform with a single point of technical and financial management.

Specifically designed for sports and live events, Vipe RT is a new, separate engine that deploys real-time processing upstream from Vipe’s playout engine. As an optional upgrade, Vipe RT can be added to an existing Premium Vipe playout channel to handle live sports and events on a daily basis.

Graham Sharp, CEO of BCNEXXT, USA, said, “Vipe RT provides previously unseen levels of automation and unmatched reliability to sports and live events. A new Live Operator panel provides real-time control over functionality, such as real-time switching, graphics selection, emergency slates, and audio mapping.

‘All with the added security of a low-latency Web RTC confidence monitor.”Take a look at the new version of cloud-native, software-only Vipe at booth 3.B23 during IBC2024, which is taking place at the Amsterdam RAI convention centre from September 13-16.
