Black Box’s flexible IP KVM delivers simplified advanced functionality

Black Box is heading to NAB 2025 to offer keyboard, video and mouse (KVM)-IP products that offer secure, flexible, and scalable workflows with low IP bandwidth usage.

The Black Box Emerald IP KVM platform, which serves as an infinitely scalable universal access system, giving users the flexibility to connect to both physical and virtual machines, along with anywhere, anytime IP access over an existing IP network, WAN, or even the internet.

One of the latest editions to Emerald is the DESKVUE PE Multi-Source, Multi-View receiver. With DESKVUE, all systems are displayed as individual windows on up to four 4K monitors, including one ultrawide curved 5K monitor. Users can arrange, resize, or move/drag system “tiles” or “windows” across the connected monitors, allowing superior flexibility and viewing options to the desktop “canvas”.

Emerald AV Wall, a software feature native to Emerald DESKVUE, makes it easy to display a single source from an Emerald system on a 2×2 video wall for viewing by a larger group.

Other highlights at booth SL10616 include the Emerald GE Gateway, which connects to the Emerald IP-based KVM network to give all Emerald users enhanced simultaneous virtual machine (VM) connectivity with Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) or PCoIP (ultra) VM sharing. Up to eight users can access up to eight VM sessions through a single Emerald GE unit, saving the cost of additional RDP or PCoIP clients.

John Hickey, Senior Director of R&D and KVM Systems, Black Box, said, “We look forward to showing how these innovative solutions enable greater efficiency and bring more effective collaboration to professionals across control rooms, broadcast, Pro AV, and live event production.

“Visitors to our booth will also get a look at our AlertWerks IoT gateway, a turnkey infrastructure monitoring solution that integrates with sensors and analytics to help users optimise virtually any environment.”To find out more, speak with Hickey and his team at NAB 2025, which is taking place at the Las Vegas Convention Centre from April 5 to 9.
