Chyron unveils major updates to cloud-based live production platform

Chyron has announced a series of significant updates to its Chyron LIVE cloud-native live production platform. These enhancements, showcased at the 2024 NAB Show in Las Vegas, mark a milestone in improving the accessibility and quality of live streaming content for sports and news broadcasters.
The latest updates to Chyron LIVE prioritise online production accessibility, remote production monitoring, smooth remote commentary, intuitive illustrated replay, and simplified graphics layout.
Kristy Weir, Product Manager at Chyron, emphasised the focus on improving user interaction with the platform. “Our goal is to provide a user-centric platform that simplifies the live production process, allowing crews to focus on delivering high-quality content,” she said.
One of the features of the new release is the Multiviewer module, offering four independently configurable multi viewers for monitoring remote productions within Chyron LIVE. This capability provides live video and audio monitoring of any source within the platform, empowering remote directors and production staff with comprehensive oversight of the show.
Chyron LIVE’s reputation for integrating professional-grade graphics, replay, and audio tools into a single cloud production environment is further solidified with these upgrades. Notable enhancements include increased PRIME CG graphics horsepower, support for PRIME Messages, and improved replay and telestration tools designed for fast-paced sports productions.
In terms of audio features, the Commentary module has been enriched with WebRTC protocol integration for simplified connectivity and a new audio mix-minus feature to ensure clear production audio for remote commentators.
Additional improvements across the platform include enhanced support for adding clips and replays to scenes, warning notifications to minimise errors, responsive design for smaller screens, and backend enhancements for improved web layout performance.
