Cinnafilm revolutionising live IP video standards conversion

Cinnafilm, a provider of video optimisation solutions, is launching Tachyon LIVE at NAB 2025. A live IP standards and format conversion technology, Tachyon LIVE is designed to empower IP video broadcasters with “unparalleled flexibility” to perform high-quality standards conversion, whether in the cloud or on-premises.

From live sports to breaking news, the solution simplifies the delivery of diverse feeds to a common standard, ready for worldwide distribution via SRT, SMPTE 2110, or other protocols.

Its integration with the AWS Marketplace, says Cinnafilm, highlights the company’s commitment to providing accessible, enterprise-grade tools that meet the evolving needs of broadcasters, streamers, and studios.

Designed to tackle the complexities of modern broadcasting, Tachyon LIVE offers features such as motion-compensated frame rate conversion, advanced deinterlacing, resolution scaling, and colour space adjustments, all executed with real-time broadcast-quality precision and low latency.

Tachyon LIVE is integrated into Cinnafilm’s new live IP transcode engine, IPx LIVE, which supports industry-standard IP video protocols like SMPTE 2110, TR-07, SRT, and NDI. It integrates into existing live workflows, accepting diverse input streams and delivering converted outputs to multiple destinations with minimal latency.

Dom Jackson, VP of Products & Services, Cinnafilm, declared, “IPx and Tachyon LIVE are game-changers for the broadcast industry. By combining our industry-leading conversion algorithms with the flexibility of deployment via AWS Marketplace, we’re empowering broadcasters to meet the demands of a global audience with ease.

“This isn’t just about technology — it’s about revolutionising how live events are delivered, making high-quality, real-time format and standards conversion accessible anywhere, anytime.”To find out more, visit booth W1257 at NAB 2025, which is taking place at the Las Vegas Convention Centre from April 5 to 9.
