Cobalt Digital, a company in the video processing field, celebrated their 26th year of business at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Show 2023. The company has been growing steadily and creating new products based on customer requirements whilst maintaining high reliability.
Due to the current shortage, the company has been able to anticipate the situation and deliver their products promptly. Cobalt Digital specialises in video processing, embedding audio to video, SDI video upconversion, downconversion, embedding in the MIDI, and frame things as distribution amplifiers and routers. Their main product, called the Maximum 12g, feeds to have a single SDI feed all the way to standard definition.
At the NAB Show 2023, Cobalt Digital introduced several new products. One of them is their SD 2010 to HDMI converter, which is a small box version of their processing card. They also showcased their 64 by 64 Wave router, which is a high-density compact router that is only three inches wide in-depth and has a programmable control panel and power supply. Cobalt Digital's new product that could be of interest is the feedback link for the encoder and decoder, which can increase the reliability of video transmission. This product can reduce bitrate and prevent outages by allowing the decoder to provide feedback to the encoder in the event of network congestion or interference.
Cobalt Digital APAC Director Sales Engineering Anthony Tan explained that whilst the industry is moving towards cloud computing, it is important to manage customer expectations and deliver what they need based on current technology. "Our products are very reliable. And also, whilst due to the shortage, we were able to anticipate this then therefore, we are able to actually deliver the product to our customer in a timely manner," Tan said.
Cobalt Digital's customers are mainly TV stations that persist in video processing, and the company's products are designed to meet their requirements. The company's emphasis on customer requirements and reliability has helped them maintain a steady growth rate over the years. "We are a growing company, [with] new products based on customer's requirements. And our products are very reliable," Tan said. Overall, Cobalt Digital's new product line and focus on customer satisfaction are sure to continue their success in the video processing industry.
