Easing content delivery woes

Launched in collaboration with Vuulr, EMA Asia aims to bring the standards, specifications and best practices of the Entertainment Merchants Association to Asia’s digital content supply chain

Vuulr, a global digital supply chain and marketplace for the TV and film content industry, has established a strategic partnership with the Entertainment Merchants Association (EMA), an international trade association for the entertainment content industry, to launch EMA Asia.

This partnership, according to both organisations, enables Vuulr to bring EMA’s standards, specifications and practices to content owners in Asia. EMA Asia will advance EMA’s digital supply chain efficiency initiatives, and provide the entertainment content community with industry support and consultation in China, India, Japan, South Korea and South-east Asia.

The EMA provides specifications for standardising metadata about content assets and avails data containing rights availability — usually required by content buyers from producers. As the industry in Asia currently does not operate under a single cohesive standard, the companies added that the adoption of EMA’s recommended practices opens up global markets for Asia content producers by removing the friction in delivery of content.

Through this multi-year licence, Vuulr will promote awareness and adoption of EMA Asia industry standards via conferences, seminars, workshops and consultations.

Mark Fisher, president and CEO of EMA, concluded: “It has been a goal of ours to expand the reach of EMA and its digital supply chain efficiency solutions beyond the US market. EMA Asia allows us to connect with the large and important community of content providers and retailers in Asia using the regional expertise and experienced leadership team of Vuulr.”
