Get On Stage on OOONA’s free media localisation platform

OOONA, a provider of professional management and production tools for the media localisation industry, has launched On Stagea free-to-access archive of presentations, research and related contributions shared by professionals in the media localisation field.

Hosted on OOONA EDU, On Stage is designed to serve as a knowledge-sharing hub for media localisation professionals. It provides a platform for such experts to showcase their work, including white papers, case studies, presentations from industry events, journal articles and videos, making them accessible to the media community at its widest.

The inspiration for On Stage came from the November 13th-15th 2024 Languages & The Media conference in Budapest, where professionals and academics from around the world presented their latest research and analyses of media localisation practices.

Emphasising the need for greater accessibility to the research in the field, Wayne Garb, OOONA Co-Founder & CEO, said, “There is so much work presented at industry events which merits being made more easily discoverable. By making these valuable resources widely available, On Stage will enable professionals, educators, researchers and newcomers to the industry to stay informed and engaged.

“Sharing knowledge is key to driving the evolution of media localisation. With On Stage, we are creating a space where industry professionals can contribute their expertise and help shape the future of the field.”

Lauding the launch of On Stage, Jorge Díaz-Cintas, Professor of Translation Studies at University College London, added, “The media localisation industry is undergoing a rapid transformation. Fostering collaboration and exchanging insights have become more important than ever.”
