Irdeto, the leading video entertainment security company, unveiled new solutions and strategic initiatives at this year’s International Broadcasting Convention (IBC). Andrew Bunten, Chief Operating Officer of Irdeto, elucidated on the company’s recent endeavours to transition to a streaming-first world and enhance its anti-piracy initiatives.
Bunten began, “Irdeto is primarily a diversified holding company in securing video entertainment. Leveraging our expertise in video, we’ve ventured into attractive areas including gaming, connected transportation and connected health.”
This year, the company highlighted its new RDK (Reference Design Kit) solution at IBC, a novel initiative that merges broadcast and streaming initiatives onto a singular platform. Bunten explained, “RDK is part of our endeavour to bridge towards a streaming world for our customers, allowing them to unite their broadcast and streaming projects.”
However, the crown jewel of their presentation was the unveiling of the anti-piracy dashboard. This state-of-the-art data analytics tool aggregates all information collected during Irdeto’s anti-piracy activities, furnishing operators with an amalgamated report to enhance their service’s value.
“I’ll begin with the anti-piracy piece,” Bunten continued. “Irdeto is one of the select few in the market with a comprehensive suite of anti-piracy services.” This ranges from watermarking to enforcement and online piracy detection. He further elaborated on the vast amounts of unique data collected in these processes. “By synthesising this data, we can determine the ideal solutions to address each client’s unique challenges.”
