Kiloview’s NDI solution powers Macau Grand Prix, wins Asia-Pacific Broadcasting+ Award 2025

The company was honoured by the awards programme for powering the 2024 Macau Grand Prix with an advanced NDI AV-over-IP solution.

Kiloview, a leader in AV-over-IP technology, received the Live Event Streaming – China honour at the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting+ Awards 2025 for its successful next-generation broadcast-grade NDI solution for the 71st Macau Grand Prix—an event that has over 100,000 spectators and extensive broadcast demands.

The Macau Grand Prix, which was held from 14 to 17 November 2024 and deemed one of the world’s premier motorsport events, was transformed from an outdated infrastructure into a modern and high-performance video distribution and recording network, all thanks to Kiloview’s NDI AV-over-IP system.

The previous baseband setup faced several challenges. It lacked scalability to support the growing number of video feeds and relied on cumbersome cabling that made installation and maintenance inefficient. Video transmission was often unstable, posing risks during live broadcasts.

Distribution was another major issue. Video needed to be delivered to multiple locations, including the main control centre, commentary booths, and security rooms—but the system offered little flexibility and could not adapt to such complex routing demands.

This inflexibility also hindered collaboration between broadcast, production, and security teams, who required real-time access to synchronised video streams.

To meet the scale and complexity of the event, the AV system had to handle over 60 HD and 4K video streams from more than 50 cameras, whilst maintaining low latency and high reliability throughout.

To resolve these challenges, Kiloview deployed a full AV-over-IP solution centred around the NDI protocol. Kiloview NDI N60 converters replaced traditional HDMI signals, delivering 4Kp60 HDR video with low latency.

Kiloview NDI CORE MAX enabled centralised, large-scale signal switching and stable distribution across all operation centrs. Complementing it, Kiloview NDI CUBE R1 captured multiple streams from CORE MAX, delivering high-quality, reliable footage for referee playback and post-production.

Kiloview Multiview Pro enabled real-time monitoring for live broadcasts and production teams, whilst Kiloview KiloLink Server Pro simplified device management with centralised monitoring, firmware updates, and troubleshooting.

“Kiloview’s NDI solution really changed the game for the AV system at Macau Grand Prix. They now have a scalable system in place that will allow them to easily expand and improve their operations for future races. It’s given them the flexibility to handle bigger setups and make sure everything runs smoothly for the teams and fans,” said CISC.

Kiloview’s NDI solution has definitely brought measurable improvements, including better signal quality, faster setup with lower costs, and improved uptime throughout the four-day event.

More than meeting the technical needs of the 2024 Macau Grand Prix, Kiloview’s flexible and scalable system set a new benchmark for live sports broadcasting. The innovative use of NDI technology made the AV infrastructure more adaptable, efficient, and future-ready.
