The NAB Show 2023 in Las Vegas has brought together broadcasting and media professionals from all over the world to showcase new technologies and products. One of the highlights of the event is the launch of the QxP, a portable device for 12G-SDI plus 25G IP testing and measurement from Leader Electronics, a leading manufacturer of broadcast test and measurement equipment.
Kevin Salvidge, European Sales Engineering and Technical Marketing Manager at Electronics said that there is a lot of interest in the QxP from both old and new customers as they start their migration from traditional SDI video to IP and cloud-based platforms. "Customers have been crying out to us; they want a portable 12G-SDI plus 25G IP portable device, and for the first time here, we are showing the QxP, which is based on the QX platform," Salvidge said in an interview with Asia-Pacific Broadcasting+.
The QxP is not only an analyser but also a generator, making it a complete one-stop shop for portable tester measurement squads. The device runs on batteries, DC power, and AC mains and has an integrated waveform monitor display. This allows users to quickly identify where they need to look within their IP system to make the necessary corrections.
In addition to the QxP, Leader also showcased its LV5600 and LV7600, true hybrid IP and SDI waveform monitors that can display both SDI and IP simultaneously on the display. The company has added support for JPEG XS, the latest member of the SMPTE 2110-22 family with compressed video. Salvidge explained that the -20 stream is 260, whilst the -22 is 360MBPS.
"It's true hybrid so we can display SDI 2110-20 and 2110-22 side by side, making it just another blade to the Swiss Army knife of tester measurement," he said. The NAB Show 2023 is an opportunity for companies to showcase their latest products and technologies and for broadcasting and media professionals to learn about the latest trends and innovations in the industry.
The QxP, LV5600, and 7600 are just some of the new products on display, offering customers significant advantages for both production and operations. The event is a chance for professionals to network, attend educational sessions, and see new products and technologies that are transforming the industry. The NAB Show 2023 took place at the Las Vegas Convention Center from May 6 to 11.
