Magna Systems has signed a technology
and reseller partnership agreement with Ranplan Wireless, a wireless technology
company that has developed software for outdoor/indoor wireless network design,
optimisation and automation.

Magna Systems Group Sales and Marketing
Manager Paul Maroni said, “Ranplan is at the forefront of research and
development in radio propagation, small cells and DAS networks, automatic RAN
optimisation and the deployment of complex hetnets for in-building cellular
networks, public safety and the Internet of Things (IoT)*.

“With this partnership Ranplan
supplement and complement our range of radio planning tools and as most mobile
phone usage is indoors, this enables us to now easily provide modelling that
keeps pace with the complexities presented by 5G and the IoT.”

Ranplan leverages advanced 3D
in-building modelling as well as 3D RF propagation and simulation in developing
its portfolio. Its expertise and commitment to continuous development provides
mobile operators and system integrators with cutting-edge tools to
cost-effectively design, plan, optimise and operate multiple networks for today
and tomorrow.

Maroni added, “Magna deals with every
major telco in Australia and more across the Asia Pacific region. Whether it be
a stadium, shopping centre or apartment complex, telco operators need to plan
and make sure they have uninterrupted coverage throughout the structure to
ensure quality of service for their customers.

“As we have been for many years, Magna is the one-stop-shop for all telco planning, measurement, optimisation, benchmarking and user experience tools.”

*DAS stands for distributed antenna system, and RAN for radio access network. A hetnet is a heterogeneous network, one whose components are very different from each other.
