The company will unveil its 100G IP switches, as well as 4K/UHD video transport platform that is integrated with TICO compression

Making its debut for Media Links at Inter BEE 2018 is the 100G Media-Centric IP switches, which will be showcased as part of the IP Video Routing (IP-VR) application.

The new MDX100G switching family is aimed at addressing the requirements of accelerated IP workflows that are essential to address network speeds and bandwidth requirements. Available in two versions — 32 and 48 ports — the MDX100G switch is designed specifically for aggregating media streams. Additionally, the IP video router system supports up to 1920x1920 HD-SDI cross-points, offering broadcasters the high-bandwidth capacity connections for bi-directional signal flow within a hybrid SDI/IP environment.

Media Links will also demonstrate its 4K/Ultra HD (UHD) transmission application, which encompasses some of its new 4K/UHD transport solutions, such as the MDP3040 two-channel encoder/decoder. Equipped with TICO compression, the MDP3040 is able to “reduce transmission bandwidth, resulting in ultra-low delay”, said Media Links.

Complementing the 4K/UHD transmission application is the MD003 CWDM video transport platform with its new TICO compression-integrated 4K/UHD card. Supporting up to eight channels of 4K/UHD video signals over one optical fibre, the multi-channel, multi-service transport system can be deployed for “reliable and scalable” signal transport over dedicated dark fibre infrastructure.

The third 4K/UHD solution which Media Links will be exhibiting at booth 3309 is the MD8000 media-over-IP system. The MD8000 is capable of receiving 4K/UHD video signals as four separate and timed quad 3G-SDI video inputs, compresses them utilising JPEG2000 standards, bundles them into IP packets, and transmits or receives them as a single service over either 1G or 10G interfaces.

Inter BEE 2018 will be taking place from November 14-16 at the Makuhari Messe convention centre in Tokyo.
