Since its inception 25 years ago, Innovative Production Services has always focused on producing live events and it has supported bands, theatre, TV, arts and performances as well as large corporate events.

To adapt to the changes brought forth by the pandemic, Innovative purchased a Ross Carbonite Black SOLO, a “powerhouse” according to Jeremy Koch, Director, Innovative. When Innovative was presented with an opportunity to purchase and equip an outside broadcast (OB) truck, Ross Video was brought on board.

Koch continued: “Whatever we chose needed to work with our current workflows and allow for upgrades and changes as required. Flexibility is key and Ross gives us this.

“The other thing Ross gives us is innovation. We wanted gear that could easily talk to each other and have control systems and solutions that are all part of the one family.”

Innovative purchased a Ross Ultrix Carbonite, Ultrix FR5 and several other Ross products and solutions for its new OB truck. Koch explained that the main reason for choosing Ross, especially the Ultrix Carbonite, was that they wanted a product that would work now and into the future.

“Starting with 12G-SDI now means that everything works instantly for us and it’s a known signal format for all our team. It offers immediate benefits especially when it comes to supporting 4K/Ultra HD (UHD) workflows. Also, with the Ultrix system, if and when we need to jump to ST-2110, we can simplify swapping out an IO blade,” he added.

According to Koch, the Ross products and solutions met their key requirements by providing them with an upgrade path and more.

“This is not just the Ultrix either. The Ultritouch Panels all get updates to allow new functionality. The TouchDrive panel gets these too. It’s so good to see Ross actively developing and working on their products and pushing these updates to their customers.

“The other big thing for us is the support that Ross Video Australia has given us from day one,” he concluded.
