SDVI and Spectra Logic unite to streamline supply chains

SDVI, a provider of cloud-native media supply chain solutions, has announced the integration of its Rally media supply chain management platform with the Spectra Vail multi-cloud data management solution. This development enables media organisations to manage content across cloud storage, multiple on-premises systems, or a hybrid of both.
As media organisations increasingly explore cloud-based workflows to monetise their extensive content libraries, many still rely on large on-premises storage infrastructures containing thousands of hours of valuable media. The new integration ensures that Rally users can access and source content from Vail-managed storage — whether on premises or in the cloud — process it according to supply chain parameters, and store the output either in cloud-based S3 storage or back on-premises.
Andy Brinck, Vice-President of Strategic Alliances, SDVI, commented, “Our integration with Spectra Vail enables entirely new workflows and extends the ability of the Rally platform to access and manage content residing in on-premises storage.
“Having a fully S3-compatible storage connector for on-premises storage available in Rally is a real game changer for workflows that depend on access to archive content.”
Spectra Vail has already supported several media and entertainment organisations in bridging their on-premises storage with growing cloud archives. By integrating with SDVI Rally, Spectra Vail facilitates transitions between on-premises and cloud storage, allowing users to migrate content at their own pace. This includes migrating entire legacy archives or selective migration based on new content deals and distribution needs.
Hossein ZiaShakeri, Senior Vice-President of Business Development & Strategic Alliance, Spectra Logic, concluded, “As our customers look to take advantage of cloud processing for their media supply chains, we can see the clear need to integrate cloud workflows with on-premises storage.
“Supply chains managed by SDVI Rally need to be able to access content stored on on-premises storage and process it in the cloud with the resulting derivative asset being stored either in cloud storage or back to on-premises storage.” To find out more about the SDVI- Spectra Logic collaboration, visit booth W1542 at NAB 2025, which is taking place at the Las Vegas Convention Centre from April 5 – 9.
