HOOQ, Asia’s VoD service, has announced a major expansion of its partnership with Singtel.

The new agreement will bring HOOQ’s content to even more Singtel’s postpaid mobile, broadband and TV customers in Singapore.

Bundled with a wide range of Singtel plans, HOOQ provides a free trial of HOOQ’s VoD service for up to six months to Singtel subscribers.

As part of the multimillion-dollar deal, HOOQ will create two new playlist-style on-demand channels for Singtel TV. For ease of browsing, these channels will show case tittles that are curated based on popularity and genre.

HOOQ subscribers can also enjoy the two new channels at no extra cost and gain access to Singtel TV CH 405, where HOOQ is hosted.

HOOQ content library includes Hollywood movies from 90 days of release, and will gain access to selected popular Chinese content from Singtel’s library.

Besides Hollywood blockbusters, HOOQ users can watch hit TV series -- such as The Flash and Supergirl-- with same-day telecast as the US. HOOQ also offers Asian-flavoured content from Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand and India.

Yuen Kuan Moon, CEO for Consumer Singapore at Singtel, said: “This is a significant milestone for both companies, and we are delighted to expand our partnership with HOOQ.

“With mobile, broadband and TV delivering complete connectivity in our lives, on-demand access to good content is valued more than ever before.

“We are excited to provide our customers with more world-class entertainment from HOOQ at the tip of their fingers.”
