“With an average of 6.6 screens per home in Australia alone, the industry is far beyond needing to offer a great experience on a limited number of platforms. Instead, the default is to design video services that can run on all platforms at once,” said Stefan Lederer, CEO of Bitmovin.

The integration of Bitmovin Player will offer its customers greater flexibility in rendering support of high-quality video, thereby resulting in faster delivery to end-users and ensure a smooth experience across a wider range of browsers and devices.

Freeview FV web, one of Switch Media’s clients, is the first to get its hands on the technology. With the new upgrades, the client allows viewers across Australia to watch and plan all free-to-air TV, or access on-demand shows with their online browsers.

Lederer continued: “The addition of our Video Player to Switch Media’s portfolio means that its customers will be able to launch video solutions that run on any platform, any network and any device.”

“In a world where video is everywhere, being able to create differentiated, high-quality services are absolutely crucial for broadcasters, publishers and social media companies,” said Luke Durham, CTO of Switch Media.
