The HELM joins VA Hire to elevate Asia-Pac broadcast production

The HELM, a technical and operational solutions provider for TV and event production, has entered into a strategic partnership with VA Hire, a provider of cinematic camera and lens technology for film, television, and broadcast production. The collaboration combines cinematic camera and lens technology with cutting-edge broadcast multi-camera workflows, setting a new industry standard for high-quality content production in the Asia-Pacific region.

This partnership opens new avenues for premium corporate content capture, live events, TV productions, and bespoke studio and live-stream broadcasts. By blending The HELM’s expertise in broadcast production and technical project management with VA Hire’s extensive experience in cinematic production and inventory of cameras, lenses, and accessories, the organisations are poised to offer a comprehensive, end-to-end solution to the market.

A key milestone in this collaboration is the introduction of the Alexa 35 Live system to the Australian market, with support from ARRI Australia. The initial delivery of 12 Alexa 35 Live Multicam systems arrived in early August, and the team has already completed its first project using the new technology.

A strong pipeline of upcoming projects is also in place, demonstrating the system’s growing traction.

Josh Moffatt, CEO of The HELM, said, “The Alexa 35 Live is a game changer and ARRI has been nothing short of phenomenal in initial workflow testing and training our teams to use this new technology.

“The picture out of the camera is second to none, and we look forward to being part of the systems development and use in the market.”

Warren Day, CEO of VA Hire, echoed the sentiment, noting the long-standing demand for a true cinematic option in the broadcast market. “We have had great success with the Alexa 35 cameras in the TVC, TV drama and feature market ever since their release and now we can offer the Alexa 35 Live in the broadcast space to deliver the same awesome capture quality without compromise,” he added.
