Viu extending MediaCorp’s ‘Made in Singapore’ content viewership

With more than 41 million active users monthly, Viu, a popular pan-regional OTT video platform, has partnered with MediaCorp, Singapore’s largest content provider, to offer Viu’s subscribers access to drama and lifestyle programmes from the ‘little red dot’ island republic.

Doreen Neo, chief
content officer, MediaCorp, said: “Partnering with Viu will extend the reach
and recognition of our content to a wider regional audience, and attests to the
universal appeal and storytelling strength of MediaCorp productions.

“We are excited to introduce our proudly ‘Made in Singapore’
content to new audiences across Asia.”

As the national media service, MediaCorp has more than 600
hours of curated content and it will be available to Viu-ers throughout
Indonesia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.

The selection of scripted and factual titles includes recent
Chinese rom-com mega hits like My One In A Million (2019), social
issue-focused dystopian drama A World of Difference (2019),
romantic family-friendly titles Happy Prince (2020) and Heart
to Heart
 (2018), psycho-dramas Doppelganger (2018)
and The Driver (2020), seasons #3 and #4 of the popular police
procedural series C.L.I.F. (2014 - 2016) as well as the All
Around You
 (2020), a youth-centric drama featuring fresh-faced
finalists of MediaCorp’s Star Search 2019.

With a diverse culture, Singapore’s transmedia hub will also
offer English programmes such
asAsia
Contents Awards 2019
,
Best Asian Drama winner Faculty (2017), seasons #1 and #2 of
tech-driven thriller Zero Calling (2014 - 2015), and Food
Heroes
 (2016), its CNA's showcase of Singaporean gastronomic gurus.

Content
will include English, Bahasa Melayu, traditional Chinese and Thai subtitles on
an as-available basis.
