Taiwan video streaming start-up 17 Media is using
Wireless Video Streaming provider’s LiveU HEVC IP bonding technology to provide
high-quality live coverage of its events direct to its 17 channels to audiences
in Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Japan.
17 Media’s 17Live app, developed by Taiwan pop singer
Jeffrey Huang, enables viewers to livestream, share photos, upload videos and
interact with other streamers.
To date, 17Live has garnered more than a million views
daily and over 30 million users in the Asia-Pacific region.
The platform also has a content revenue sharing model where users can
share their content for effective monetisation.
Yaal Eshel, general manager LiveU Asia, explained that
LiveU technology was chosen because of its quality and reliability even in
challenging situations, such as crowded shopping malls, and ease of use.
"We're proud to be the vendor of choice for popular video streaming
platforms, such as 17Live. Using our technology, 17Live has been able to grow
its audience throughout Asia with entertaining and unique live
content,” he said.
“With the huge unabating demand for live content, LiveU continues to
play an active role in providing live coverage of news, sports and other events
in the region, and worldwide."
