Beam Dynamics will exhibit at IBC for the first time this September, using its debut to launch License Intelligence, a module for managing software licences, support contracts and renewals.
The launch follows a shift in how broadcast, live production and professional AV infrastructure is bought. As more of the infrastructure becomes software-driven, organisations are carrying a growing mix of subscriptions, support agreements and product entitlements across multiple systems and sites. That information tends to sit in vendor portals, spreadsheets, supplier records and separate internal departments, which makes it hard to establish what each agreement covers, who owns the renewal, and what a lapse would cost.
“Missed support contracts and renewal dates are one of the biggest sources of avoidable cost we hear about,” said David Kaszycki, CEO & Co-Founder, Beam Dynamics. “Responsibility is split, information sits in different places and dates slip through the cracks.
“Even organisations that group renewals into one or two points in the year can still miss them, leaving them with gaps in coverage leading to back-coverage costs.”
License Intelligence consolidates agreements into a single register covering dates, costs, owners, suppliers and locations, with advanced alerts and a link between each agreement and the assets it supports.
Beam positions the earlier visibility as a way to plan spending, consolidate renewals across sites, compare costs and flag contracts needing attention without rebuilding the same picture each cycle. The module also tracks software versions, security patches and known vulnerabilities, mapping them to affected assets.
It sits alongside Asset Intelligence, Beam’s existing platform, which the organisation said is used by production organisations and systems integrators. That module combines firmware, warranty, end-of-life and manufacturer data with location tracking, scheduling and ticketing, giving engineering, operations, procurement and finance a shared view of where equipment is, how it is scheduled and which faults are outstanding.
“What teams want is one view, clear ownership and enough notice to act while a renewal is still within budget,” Kaszycky said. “When Asset and License Intelligence sit together, they can prevent problems instead of paying for them afterwards.”
