LiveU provided key live-streaming support during
Singapore’s recent General Election 2020 (GE2020) that enabled Mediacorp to
broadcast live from 31 constituencies across the country.
Mediacorp used multiple field units to stream live
video of events on Nomination Day, the, coverage of candidates at their
constituencies and right up to the Polling Day itself.
Leveraging LiveU cloud technology, Mediacorp also
used LiveU’s platform for multi-destination distribution and disaster recovery.
On the ground, management and support for the complex project was provided by Elevate
Broadcast, LiveU’s partner in Singapore.

Affairs, Mediacorp, said that with social distancing being paramount and
additional safety measures needed to provide coverage, LiveU’s high
availability solutions guaranteed transmission around the clock from multiple
locations. “Using LiveU’s cloud technology, we could also multi-stream the live broadcast
footages to our YouTube and digital platforms, bringing the live feeds to wider
audiences, without needing large crews on-site,” he said.
LiveU also worked with Mediacorp to provide coverage
of the republic’s National Day on August 9 in which LiveU’s technology was used
to share live feeds from across the island.
