Globecast’s Managed Cloud Network (MCN) solution has completed AWS’ Foundational Technical Review (FTR), making the solutions provider for media and content management an official global AWS partner.
Sebastien Fauzan, Head of Marketing for Live & Sports at Globecast, said, “We have worked with them across our media supply chain services, including major cloud playout projects with Crown Media and GAC Family. Globecast MCN is our first service to complete the FTR. AWS looked at the services we can provide with MCN, closely examining the design, build and the way it’s operated.”
The AWS FTR enables AWS partners to identify and remediate risks in their products or solutions, providing specific guidelines to adopt a subset of AWS best practices to reduce risks around security, reliability and operational excellence, as defined by the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
Designed for sports broadcasters and rights holders, Globecast’s MCN solution has recently been upgraded to Version 2.0, allowing content owners to add value to an event to which they have bought rights by facilitating cloud-based distribution of additional content.
“Version 2.0 includes integration directly from the venue site to affiliates, removing any connectivity hurdles, and providing a complete end-to-end solution.”
Through Orchestrator, content owners will have access to controlling which affiliates receive specific content based on rights purchasing. It also includes support for the open-source and Secure Reliable Transport (SRT) protocol alongside existing Zixi protocol support.
