AJA Video Systems has released new firmware updates that bring improvements to the OG-Hi5-4K-Plus, OG-HA5-4K, and OG-12GM openGear cards, which support an expansive range of signal conversion needs spanning broadcast, production, post, and live events.
The OG-Hi5-4K-Plus v1.7.4 firmware update adds new 12-bit SDI workflow support and performance enhancements for HDMI syncs to the 3G-SDI to HDMI 2.0 conversion card; OG-HA5-4K v1.7.2 enables EDID (extended display identification data) to report 2-channel support for non-PCM audio with the 4K/UltraHD/2K/HD/SD HDMI 2.0 to 3G-SDI conversion card.
The OG-12GM v1.3.3 and OG-HA5-4K v1.7.2 firmware updates further introduce several enhancements that improve the performance of the cards.
Nick Rashby, President, AJA Video Systems, said, “As demand for openGear technology continues to grow, we continue to upgrade our production-proven lineup of 12G-SDI and 4K/UHD openGear cards to support the most rigorous workflows and up-to-date industry standards.”
AJA has also made available BRIDGE LIVE v1.13.2, a new update that expands NDI capabilities and introduces new performance enhancements for AJA’s BRIDGE LIVE, a multi-channel UHD and HD live video solution.
BRIDGE LIVE v1.13.2 introduces new support for NDI discovery servers, which streamline detection of NDI sources within a network and operate as a centralised registry of all NDI streams. As an alternative to automatic NDI discovery functions, discovery servers are ideal for production environments where significant multicast DNS (mDNS) traffic is restricted or prohibited, which is common for many cloud computing services.
Discovery servers support all NDI functionality and when in use, NDI can operate entirely in unicast mode in nearly any installation, said AJA.
Rashby added, “BRIDGE LIVE features enterprise-level processing power to support the most rigorous demands of live production and critical streaming environments. To further simplify workflows and help teams deliver the highest quality streams, BRIDGE LIVE v1.13.2 expands NDI capabilities for more flexible workflows.”
