MediaKind, a global media technology leader, showcased its new technology innovations at the NAB Show 2023 in Las Vegas. Chris Wilson, Director of Product Marketing at MediaKind, presented the company's latest solutions for streaming and encoding. Amongst the new products showcased, the Atlas Upscaling tool caught the attention of many attendees.

The tool allows high-quality upscaling of HD to UHD, whilst the recently launched Wave solution enables ultra-low latency and high-quality video with DRM. "Our main solution is our Aquila streaming platform, which is a cloud-based API-driven streaming platform that allows us to deploy encoding and packaging to deliver content to end-users," Wilson said. The platform also supports broadcast workflows for linear TV and allows broadcasters to migrate their services to the cloud, complemented with streaming services to reach new viewers and place targeted advertising.

MediaKind's unique selling point is its capability to manage both on-prem and cloud services, making the company well-positioned to support customers in different ways, according to Wilson. "We have a lot of experience on-prem. From our history, we have redeveloped and pushed all of our technology into the cloud. And we can help manage those two worlds for our customers," he said. MediaKind's technology innovations were recognised at the NAB Show 2023.

The company received awards for its SG1 solution, an on-prem GPU hardware accelerated encoder that allows for huge density at low power consumption. The company won both the Index category award and the Best in Show award for the SG1 solution. MediaKind also won the Best Product award in the AI category for its AI upscaling solution. Wilson expressed his excitement about the awards, stating, "This has been fantastic to receive these."

MediaKind's solutions for streaming and encoding offer broadcasters new ways to reach audiences, improve user experience, and manage services in the cloud and on-prem. The company's technology innovations at the NAB Show 2023 demonstrate its commitment to providing high-quality media solutions.
