Professional intercom systems provider Pliant Technologies unveiled three new products at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Show 2023. The new products offer upgrades to existing products, as well as brand-new features that are expected to impress users. Amongst these products is the CCU-08 – a device that features an eight-channel, four-wire control unit.
The new control unit is a significant upgrade from the previous two-wire combined to a four-wire control unit, offering users more control and flexibility. This product has never been shown at the NAB Show before, making it a highly anticipated release for Pliant Technologies. The company also introduced the IP-rated radio transceiver, which connects to the wireless system and serves as an antenna for the previous system.
The system can withstand harsh weather conditions such as rain or snow, making it ideal for outdoor use. On top of these solutions, Pliant Technologies updated its software to support the radio transceiver and control unit. The updated software includes a ping functionality that allows users to locate devices such as radio transceivers and beltpacks. It also indicates when an IP-rated radio transceiver is in use, through a small umbrella icon.
It also features a network-based product built on a proprietary network, which allows users to assign unique sets of conferences wherever they are needed. This makes it easy for each users to have their own customised setup. Pliant Technologies Vice President of Product Management Art Gonzales expressed his excitement about the new products and software advancements. "Our customers have been asking for these upgrades, and we are happy to deliver," said Gonzales. "The new software advancements are a game-changer, and we believe our customers will appreciate the added functionality."
He added that the launch of these new products is expected to further strengthen the company’s position in the industry as the new products and software updates provide users with more control and flexibility. The NAB Show is an annual event where media and entertainment professionals come to learn and discover the latest innovations and technologies in the industry.
