Mediaproxy enhances its LogServer using AI-Media’s LEXI Recorded

Mediaproxy has bolstered the capabilities of its LogServer compliance monitoring system through its integration with AI-Media’s Technologies’ LEXI Recorded self-service captioning and transcription platform.

This integration marks a new milestone in the ongoing collaboration between Mediaproxy and AI-Media. The latter, initially a customer of Mediaproxy, has developed a closer partnership with the company, beginning with the integration of LogServer and AI-Media’s iCap cloud network.

Established in Sydney in 2003, AI-Media aims to make TV programmes more accessible to deaf and hard-of-hearing viewers. The company has created a suite of captioning technologies designed to generate, distribute, and display subtitles across various broadcasting and streaming platforms.

Its core offering, the LEXI AI-powered toolkit, features automatic captioning, translation, and disaster recovery capabilities.

Launched in February 2024, LEXI Recorded is the newest addition to AI-Media’s product lineup. This cloud service delivers fast turn-around captions for video-on-demand (VoD) and provides transcriptions and translations of broadcast content. Like LogServer, LEXI Recorded is file-based, facilitating integration between the two systems.

At the 2024 NAB Show, Mediaproxy announced that LogServer now supports LEXI Recorded, enabling outputs from its logger/recorder to be processed by AI-Media’s system for captioning, translation, and transcription.

Declan Gallagher, General Manager of Sales for the Asia-Pacific Region at AI-Media, explained, “The use case is primarily for compliance reasons. If a broadcaster was asked what went to air and didn’t currently caption that channel, they would be able to quickly turn around a transcript of the content in question.

“Integrating further with LogServer has given our new service — and our users — a high degree of functionality and flexibility for an increasingly important aspect of broadcasting.”
Erik Otto, Chief Executive of Mediaproxy, added, “The integration of LEXI Recorded is an important addition to the features of our LogServer product and gives a great deal of flexibility in the crucial area of captioning and transcription. The partnership with AI-Media is a long-standing one and is only getting stronger.“
