Dalet boosts AmberFin with flexible deployment and pricing models

Dalet has unveiled updates to its AmberFin transcoding solution, offering enhanced deployment flexibility, competitive pay-per-use pricing, and additional codecs and tools designed to optimise media supply chain workflows from capture to distribution.

The updates reinforce Dalet AmberFin’s reputation with new codec support and elastic workflows. Aaron Kroger, Product Marketing Lead at Dalet, said, “New flexible deployment models and expanded capabilities give users more latitude with budgets and new ways to optimise their media supply chain workflows without compromising on quality.”

The cloud-native Dalet AmberFin supports on-premises, cloud, and hybrid configurations. Users can opt for a pay-per-use model through a software-as-a-service (SaaS) deployment managed and hosted by Dalet or hosted on their own AWS infrastructure. Dalet continues to offer on-premises nodes on a subscription-per-node basis.

Dalet AmberFin Cloud uses the same proprietary transcoding engine across all deployments, allowing existing on-premise users to utilise the cloud for additional capability and peak usage management. This elastic processing power offers a new level of agility and limitless scalability.

The new self-hosted pay-by-the-hour pricing model eliminates subscription fees and provides the lowest upfront and operational costs for users managing their cloud services. Depending on the use case, cloud deployments can yield up to 50% savings, Dalet claimed, compared to fixed on-premises nodes.

Furthermore, Dalet AmberFin supports a wide range of advanced formats and standards from capture to distribution. The latest updates include new codec support for formats such as ProRes RAW and the latest RED R3D file formats.

Aaron Kroger, Product Marketing Lead for Dalet, said, “Our ongoing commitment to adding capabilities to Dalet AmberFin is not just about supporting new codecs but about processing and delivering those codecs at the highest possible quality.

“Whether it’s frame-rate conversions, colour space conversion, or high dynamic range (HDR) tone mapping, Dalet AmberFin delivers superior quality results, certified by industry leaders such as Apple and Dolby.”
