Vietcoms & Bridge Technologies enable THVL to enhance QoE for 15m viewers

Vietnamese broadcaster Vinh Long Television Station (THVL) has successfully completed a major broadcast infrastructure upgrade with support from systems integrator Vietcoms and monitoring specialist Bridge Technologies. The initiative marks a significant step forward in the station’s commitment to delivering high-quality video services to its audience of more than 15 million viewers across 13 provinces.

As one of Vietnam’s most established media companies, THVL decided to enhance both the quality of service (QoS) and quality of experience (QoE) across its operations. The upgrade encompassed the development of new video service preparation facilities, the overhauling of primary distribution systems, and enhancements to its terrestrial broadcast network.

Vietcoms, a Vietnamese systems integrator with a presence in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, led the design and implementation of the new infrastructure. The company collaborated closely with THVL to define system architecture, evaluate vendor proposals, and oversee deployment.

Central to the project was the integration of Bridge Technologies’ monitoring and analytics solutions. Known for its advanced video service monitoring probes, Bridge Technologies was selected to provide end-to-end visibility of THVL’s services across IP networks and off-air RF distribution.

The tools enabled real-time analysis, error detection, and long-term performance insights, which are critical for maintaining broadcast excellence.

Khang, CEO of Vietcoms, said, “Selecting Bridge Technologies as the monitoring solution provider for the THVL service upgrade was an obvious choice. One of Bridge’s key propositions is ‘Build it in, don’t bolt it on’.

“This philosophy puts monitoring front-and-centre in the development of next-gen broadcast facilities; it becomes a foundational element that builds reliability, understanding, diagnostics and efficient service rectification right into the heart of the system.”

James Chance, Regional Manager, Asia-Pacific, Bridge Technologies, added, “The alignment of Vietcom’s thinking with our own is fundamental to the success of our ongoing partnership, and it’s this understanding which allows Vietcoms to deliver such successful projects on our behalf, for clients like THVL.

“Their understanding of customer needs and their ability to consider infrastructure projects strategically and from multiple angles is what helps them to deliver commercially successful, future-proofed solutions which don’t just meet the needs of the client, but anticipate and exceed them.”
