DAZN streams FIFA Club World Cup globally using MediaKind MK.1O

DAZN recently partnered with MediaKind and Amagi to stream the inaugural FIFA Club World Cup 2025 to hundreds of millions of viewers in more than 200 markets. As the exclusive global broadcaster of the tournament, which featured 32 clubs across 63 matches in 12 stadiums in the US, the sports entertainment platform relied on cloud-native technologies to ensure uninterrupted, broadcast-quality coverage at scale.
For instance, DAZN used MediaKind’s multi-region MK.IO platform for the first time, with the latter serving as its exclusive cloud-based live event delivery partner on Microsoft Azure. MK.IO’s elastic, API-driven design allowed DAZN to orchestrate end-to-end workflows, from ingest to playback, while scaling dynamically in response to match schedules and global demand.
James Pearce, Senior Vice-President, Broadcast & Streaming, DAZN, said, “MK.IO supported DAZN in scaling effortlessly, adapting in real time and delivering a seamless streaming experience. The service simplified our operations and helped us make world-class football more accessible than ever across all devices to fans worldwide with complete confidence.”
Beyond the tournament, DAZN is also adopting MediaKind’s cloud-connected technology for 24/7 linear channel processing, initially supporting 40 channels.
Complementing MediaKind’s role, DAZN selected Amagi as its exclusive live playout partner for the event. Using its CLOUDPORT solution, Amagi delivered uptime across all matches, handling up to 108 concurrent live events and 27 feed variants per game to meet localisation and sponsorship requirements.
“Amagi’s CLOUDPORT, deployed for DAZN using a highly resilient architecture, was important in enabling us to deliver uninterrupted, high-quality coverage at scale for this tournament,” Pearce added. “Amagi’s real-time support allowed us to meet the technical demands of the tournament with confidence and efficiency.”
Amagi has worked with DAZN since 2023 and continues to expand its role in supporting tier-1 sports streaming operations.
