Cinnafilm’s infrastructure-agnostic IP conversion for sports now available

Cinnafilm have made available IPx LIVE and Tachyon LIVE, which deliver broadcast-grade, real-time IP video transcoding and motion-compensated standards conversion for live sports and major events.
Built for the fast-growing live IP video market, IPx LIVE is a powerful transcode engine supporting SMPTE 2110, SRT, NDI, and TR-07/08. Integrated with Cinnafilm’s award-winning Tachyon technology, it provides artifact-free frame-rate and format conversion, even in high-motion sports, minimising artifacts when moving between 60fps and 50fps.
Fully software-defined and infrastructure-agnostic, the solutions run on-premises, in the cloud, or hybrid with NVIDIA GPU acceleration, freeing broadcasters from rigid, aging hardware boxes while reducing costs and enabling instant scaling from anywhere.
Lance Maurer, CEO, Cinnafilm, said, “The explosion of live IP streams and diverse viewing devices demands a flexible, uncompromising approach to standards and protocol conversion. IPx LIVE and Tachyon LIVE give broadcasters the real-time quality and scalability they need to deliver flawless experiences in the most demanding live environments.”
swXtcg.io, a key OEM partner of Cinnafilm, has already integrated Tachyon LIVE into its cloudSwXtch platform.
Brent Yates, CEO, swXtch.io, said, “Adding Tachyon LIVE gives our customers the highest-quality conversions available while fully embracing on-demand cloud infrastructure. It’s a game changer for live sports and event production.”
IPx LIVE and Tachyon LIVE are available immediately via the AWS Marketplace, Cinnafilm’s global partner network, swXtch.io, and as appliances from Evertz.
