2019 marks a new start for Dr Falk Herrmann as he assumes the role of CEO at Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity. He joins R&S from the Bosch Group, where he was CTO of the security global business unit.
In his new role, Dr Herrmann will report to Ralf Koenzen, executive vice-president of Rohde & Schwarz’s networking and cybersecurity division, and will be responsible for shaping the path for European IT security specialist’s future growth.
Outlining his vision for the company’s continued success, he elaborated: “My goal is to position Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity for long-term market success based on innovative and trusted products in high-growth segments. Interfacing between a startup and the well-established Rohde & Schwarz corporate group offers interesting opportunity for shaping the future.”
The founding of the cybersecurity division marks Rohde & Schwarz’s expansion into the cybersecurity environment, an area which the company describes as having a “strong growth dynamic”. At the core of Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity’s activities are the network and endpoint security, and application and cloud security business units. Together with its subsidiary LANCOM Systems, Rohde & Schwarz plans to advance its strategy to become a provider of network and cybersecurity solutions.
