Inter BEE 2018 explores possibilities of new media

Japan’s biggest broadcast and electronics show will also present new user experiences in the media and entertainment fields
The Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA) is bringing Inter BEE back to the Makuhari Messe convention centre in Chiba, Japan.
To be held under the theme Telling the World of the Possibilities of New Media, Inter BEE 2018 will also coincide with the commencement of 8K satellite broadcast in Japan on December 1 this year.
Besides raising awareness of and publicising both 4K/Ultra HD (UHD) and 8K satellite broadcasting, Inter BEE 2018 will also promote the potential use of 5G in the media and entertainment fields in preparation for commercial launch in Japan in 2020.
For the first time, Inter BEE 2018 will also be held jointly with the Digital Contents Expo 2018, which is organised by the Digital Content Association of Japan. Collectively, both events will highlight a diversity of technologies that can enrich content production, including virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT), among others.
After a successful Inter BEE 2017, which saw 1,139 exhibitors welcome more than 38,000 visitors, Inter BEE 2018 aims to strengthen its position as a “comprehensive media exhibition” that emphasises on how content is produced, transmitted and received, says the show organiser.
Inter BEE 2018 will take place from November 14-16. For more information, visit www.inter-bee.com.
