iWedia’s Teatro Factory streamlines managing connected digital TV devices

iWedia has introduced Teatro Factory, a new software factory designed to help telecom and pay-TV operators manage the entire lifecycle of digital TV devices, from software development and testing to deployment, monitoring, and long-term operations.

The launch reflects growing demand from operators for more efficient ways to manage increasingly complex digital TV ecosystems, where multiple generations of set-top boxes (STBs), smart TVs, Android TV platforms, middleware, and applications must be supported simultaneously while maintaining consistent customer experiences.

Teatro Factory combines software delivery, automated validation, and device management into a single operational framework, enabling operators to move away from traditional project-based system integration towards a more automated and continuous approach to device management.

According to iWedia, the platform is designed to address mounting industry pressures to accelerate feature releases, minimise software delivery risks, maintain legacy and new devices concurrently, and gain greater visibility across deployed device fleets.

The offering is built around three core components. Teatro Cx provides a software delivery environment that supports continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD), automated testing, documentation workflows, project dashboards, and performance tracking to improve transparency throughout the development process.

Teatro Test Lab focuses on software validation, integrating both software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop testing to identify issues earlier in the development cycle, reduce validation times, and improve software quality before deployment.

Completing the platform is Teatro Pulse, a device management solution that enables remote diagnostics, over-the-air software updates, application management, telemetry, analytics, and operational monitoring across deployed devices, giving operators greater control over large-scale STB and smart TV fleets.

Hans-Juergen Desor, CEO of iWedia, said the launch signals a shift in how operators manage connected TV devices. “Teatro Factory represents the next phase of iWedia’s evolution: bringing software delivery, automated validation, and device operations together into a managed factory model for digital TV.

“After 15 years in this market, we believe the industry is moving beyond project-based execution toward continuous, intelligent device operations, and iWedia intends to lead that transition.”
