By connecting this design tool with generative AI such as ChatGPT and Claude, Vizrt is simplifying live production and enabling content creators to prompt graphics into existence.
Vizrt has showcased its new immersive, AI-driven AI Keyer software that enables media & entertainment, sports, enterprise, and content creation companies to design, manage, and deliver broadcast-ready graphics that bring stories to life across any platform.
Vizrt is a provider of viewer-engagement platforms and live production technologies. Vizrt’s cloud-ready and AI-integrated solutions are engineered to streamline workflows and enhance every component of content delivery, from real-time data-driven graphics and studio automation to intelligent media asset management and cloud-based productions.
Vizrt AI Keyer is a solution that enables teams in studios, sports, newsrooms, live events, and video production to switch backgrounds and insert augmented reality (AR) graphics in digital indoor or outdoor spaces, whether it’s inserting remote speakers into a global town hall environment, switching the visual location of a presenter in a news segment, or creating a virtual ad wall behind a player in a post-match interview.
The solution is trained extensively on real-world footage and lighting conditions, enabling it to seamlessly detect and separate human shapes from the backgrounds, so that the presenter in front of the camera can move around the stage whilst being locked into the virtual scene. It also eliminates the need for green screens, complex lighting setups, and chroma keying, enabling production teams to innovate to engage audiences and maximise sponsorship value.
Whilst this product is primarily aimed at customers from the broadcast industry, Leak said, “We're seeing the broadcast landscape change and now YouTubers are becoming broadcasters, streamers are becoming broadcasters. So, we literally have tools from every level of production, whether it's a streamer, YouTuber, all the way up to the BBCs, CNNs of the world that are our customers as well.”
Demonstration at NAB 2026
Launched at the NAB 2026 event in Las Vegas, the AI Keyer was demonstrated before a live audience by Vizrt Senior Customer Success Manager Russell Leak, who showed how companies can leverage the capabilities of the new AI Keyer solution to enhance broadcasts.
“The Viz AI Keyer allows you to have low-cost, high-quality presentations from any location because you don't need a green screen and you can use it for various different use cases,” Leak said, adding that users can use the AI Keyer to create “corporate presentations, no extra hardware needed, no green screen, no extra stuff. We just need the camera and the AI.”
During the live presentation, Leak demonstrated the solution using a 3D soccer football field and stadium as a background. “This could be a replacement for a video wall because I can have videos behind, and I can move through the camera. So you don't need a video wall stuck in the studio. You could then move your video wall to any studio and any location,” he said, adding that the AI Keyer can also be used to display one or multiple logos, thereby monetising content.
Simplifying traditional processes
To expedite the delivery of content on air, the AI Keyer design tool is linked directly to generative AI tools such as Claude or ChatGPT to “prompt the graphics into existence.” This simplifies once-complex production processes, automates repetitive tasks, and reduces the manual steps traditionally performed in graphics, video, and content distribution, whilst keeping consistent visual quality even when producing more content for more platforms.
With this streamlined process, teams can focus on improving storytelling, producing experiences that will better engage audiences, and scaling operations across multiple channels and formats.
Leak also took the opportunity to discuss another AI-powered tool, Libero, a 3D advanced telestration, graphics-based sports analysis tool designed to give sports fans a deeper understanding of the game. He revealed that since using Libero, their customer UEFA has seen a 78% increase in engagement, over 290 million interactions and 92 million views on the videos and heat maps shared on social media.
During the NAB Show 2026, Vizrt also showcased Arena, which enables users to place advertisements in a space through AI-powered calibration, and Mozart, which provides automation for for simplified workflows, device control, and error-free news production.
