ARRI names new executive board member for technology

Dr Michael Neuhaeuser replaces Franz Kraus, who joins the Supervisory Board of the ARRI Group

The ARRI Group’s Supervisory Board has appointed Dr Michaeal Neuhaeuser as the new Executive Board member responsible for technology.

Effective 1 September 2018, Dr Neuhaeuser succeeds Franz Kraus, who, after more than 30 years of highly successful work for the ARRI Group, joins the Supervisory Board.

Kraus played a key role in ARRI’s digitisation drive, including developing the Alexa digital camera system, and driving early competence in multi-channel LED technology for ARRI lighting. In 2011, Kraus was jointly awarded with an Academy Award of Merit, an Oscar statuette, for the design and development of the ARRILASER, a digital film recorder that pioneered the development of digital products at ARRI.

Kraus’ successor, Dr Neuhaeuser, previously served as vice-president of automative microcontroller development at Infineon Technologies in Munich. He joined Infineon Technologies in 1998, where he he developed the world’s “first fully integrated” DECT chip.
